What is the appeal of fortune cookies? Some might like the taste, but I doubt we all do. I certainly don’t reach for one because it represents a culinary masterpiece, especially after feasting on the Asian delicacies that preceded it!
However, the distribution of fortunes cookies and the anticipation of reading the messages they contain are well loved traditions. Young and old, take part in deciding who gets which cookie and bickering is not unheard of if two dinners reach for the same cookie!
What makes this activity even more intellectually fascinating is the knowledge that these fortunes are mass produced and printed with no thought of the intended recipient and the fact most, of not all, of these predictions NEVER come true (I leave room for the occasional coincidence!!).
What then? Why do we all relish reading our fortune cookies?
Could it be that we are all searching for any confirmation that all will be well?
Aren’t we all keenly in need of affirmations and reassurance that no harm will befall us and that our hopes and dreams will be fulfilled?
What if I told you I have a better source for these reassurances, one that cannot fail us?
Don’t believe me?
Read these 100% fool proof guaranteed promises that surpass what any fortune cookie can provide:
