55 days to the finish line: Lent is upon us!

Is Lent your favourite time of year? It is mine. Except, I never really asked myself about my preference for Lent, before. As a foodie, you would think that 55 days of veganism would have me tearing up (I do struggle by week 4). Instead, I find myself looking forward to Lent. Blessed Feast of Saint Philopatir Mercurius – Abu Sefein.

I was drawn to Saint Philopatir when I discovered a book about his miracles. I was a teenager then and reading about Saints was not high on my list of priorities. However, I fell on the first collection of his miracles entitled God loves me and I got hooked. All of his miracles were imbued with grace and extreme kindness.
