Good day dear readers,
This Friday’s uplifting story is simply beautiful. How many times have you wished that something could be done about the poor living in perpetual hunger ?
We live in a world where Chefs are TV Mega Stars, cooking competitions are highly rated and restaurants strive to gain your attention. Food is one of our generation’s obsession.
I am the first to admit that I feed this machine. I love everything food related. As such, I have a certain amount of guilt when I realize just how many people go hungry every single day.
According to the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization, 795 million people, or 1 in 9, suffered from undernourishment between 2014-2016 (http://www.worldhunger.org/hunger-quiz/how-many-people-are-hungry-in-the-world/).
Food for thought….
This article about a village in Turkey is quite empowering as it simplifies the problem: feed as many poor people as you can on any given day. We can start within your own communities: asking restaurant owners for the surplus and making the rounds of the homeless people we see everyday on the streets of our cities. The Poor Never Need To Go Hungry- we can help.
